My water heater won't work on electricity.

There are many reasons why a water heater won't work on electricity, but we have some simple suggetions to try before you call a repairman.

1. Go to the outside of your coach and take the door off your water heater, look at the small electrical connections on the relay switch, pull them off to see if there is corrosion, loose connection or damage. Sometimes they just need to be scraped or the connectors just need to be squeezed together for a tighter fit, or the need some die electric grease or vaseline. Also look for damaged wires.

2. On a water heater that has both propane and electric, there are 2 thermostats, The electric thermostat can go bad and need to be replaced. They are fairly easy to replace and not to expensive, around $15-$20.

3. The water heater also has a heating element that might be bad. This is a little more tricky to remove the element , as it is a little tight getting a proper wrench around the the element to get it out, but again not very expensive at $15- $20.

Resealing my RV roof

Resealing your roof is time consuming, but well worth the investment considering that if you don't you are most surely going to have a leak, and quite possibly ruin your roof, ceiling, floor, and the list goes on.

First of all, do it when you know you will have good weather, as you don't want to remove all your caulking, just to have it rain and then pour into your RV.

All caulking seams need to be removed of caulk, dirt , debris, oils. The large amount of caulking used around vents need to be inspected for cracking and deteriation. If badly deteriated, then remove and clean throughly.

Replace only with caulking made for rubber roofs. Nothing from Wal-Mart! No Snow either! The caulking should purchased from your local RV Dealer.

Once that job is done...now take a look at your windows!

How do I keep my Refrigerator from molding while in storage?

This will only cost you the price of a small stack of newspapers.

Put a few sheets of newspapers on each rack . The newspapers will absorb any moisture.

Troubleshoot--My refrigerator won't light ?!!

RV refrigerators can be tricky at times. If your RV has been sitting for a while without use, spiders and other bugs can make nice little homes in the backs of your appliances, creating a blockage with debris or spider webs at the burner or on the sparker.

1. Make sure the propane is off.

Possible solution... take an  air hose and blow the back of your refrigerator out or simply blow on it yourself.  Be sure to look at the burner and sparker to see if they are dirty or corroded, and give it a good cleaning.

Turn the propane back on and try to light it again
